No woman, not even the most promiscuous party girl likes to be objectified by the men she doesn’t know or have any kind of relationship with. And yet so many girls seem to be doing everything they can to be perceived as sex objects and to be objectified. And then they wonder why men objectify women.
When it comes to online dating, a sure way to get guys to objectify you and your online dating profile and not take you seriously as a person is by posting overly suggestive and provocative photos. Having recently helped a few women in their late twenties to late thirties with their online dating profile, I couldn’t believe the kind of pictures they would initially post on their profile. They were disappointed by the inappropriate messages they were receiving over and over from guys, but I wouldn’t expect any other kind of messages, considering the kinds of photos they were posting. You simply can’t expect to be appreciate for who you are on the inside, no matter how good of a writer your are, if your photos make you look like a stripper.
This doesn’t mean that you should wear long and loose dresses. Being in good shape is obviously attractive to men, but showing that you have a nice body can and should be done tastefully if you are looking to have the men who see you profile respond to you on a more than just sexual level.
The three photos below are all actual photos of real OkCupid users. It should be clear to you that one of the photos is completely unacceptable. The second one is kind of too much. But the third one is quite flattering and reveals just enough to make it clear that she is attractive and has a nice body without showing too much.
